Mile-a-Minute Wedding Afghan
Crochet

Materials: Walmart Mainstays acrylic worsted weight yarn in cream and burgundy, Caron Simply Soft acrylic worsted weight yarn in heather gray.
Description: This afghan is crocheted in the round in long strips with a cream center and a spider-stitch variant. The border is done in the burgundy and gray creating a fence-like finish. Requires seven strips.
Current Status: 6/7 strips done; one strip and piecing together remaining.
Time Spent: ~60 hours
ETC: ~20 hours

Spider-stitch Shawl
Crochet

Materials: Misti-Alpaca 100% Baby Alpaca lace weight yarn in Periwinkle
Description: My shawl was inspired by this shawl. Dynamics of the shawl have changed - the spider stitch in mine is turning out much more fine, likely due to the finer yarn used. Also, my edging is turning out to be quite different from what is pictured, which I'm glad about. I think that overall I like mine better, but that's probably because I'm biased. Besides, mine is done in a much better fiber (the shawl in the picture is a cotton/poly blend), and who wouldn't want to wear something as cool as baby alpaca?
Current Status: Probably only about a third of the way done.
Time Spent: ~30 hours
ETC: ~80 hours

Freeform Pillow
Knit

Materials: Lion Brand Homespun acrylic bulky weight yarn in Shaker 301.
Description: I'm thinking about doing a cable pattern in the pillow. I will likely work two squares the size of the pillow and then sew or crochet them together and do an edging.
Current Status: I did a test swatch to figure out how many stitches to cast on when I begin.
Time Spent: 1 hour (for the test swatch)
ETC: 80 hours?
Pictures: No pictures yet

Finished Projects

Windy Day Hat
Crochet

Materials: Walmart Mainstays acrylic worsted weight yarn in cream and burgundy
Description: I decided that I need a basic hat to keep my hair from flying in my face so much when I go out. It should also be fairly light and airy for warmer days that also happen to be windy. I am considering using Auntie M's A Rose is a Rose Hat pattern as a basis for my hat. I like that it looks tight enough to not fly off my head in the wind, but the slight brim makes it just a little prettier, IMO, than the majority of other flapper-esque/skull cap patterns.
Current Status: DONE
Time Spent: 3 hours

Baby Blanket
Crochet

Materials: Caron Simply Soft acrylic worsted weight yarn in pink
Description: A simple baby blanket shell pattern for a friend's baby shower. I started late, but I managed to finish it within a week's time.
Current Status: DONE
Time Spent: 40 hours
